Overview & Highlights

Welcome to the vibrant world of Saravana Bhavan, a premier vegetarian restaurant nestled in the heart of Kochi, Kerala. Located at Kadathukulam Buildings along the bustling National Highway 544, this eatery is a haven for those who cherish the rich and diverse flavors of South Indian cuisine. With its extensive menu featuring a delightful array of dishes, Saravana Bhavan has garnered a reputation as a go-to destination for vegetarian food lovers.

Among the highlights at Saravana Bhavan are their iconic Masala Dosa and Ghee Roast, both of which have drawn rave reviews for their delightful taste and affordability. Priced at a mere ₹75 and ₹85 respectively, these dishes provide an excellent value proposition, especially compared to other establishments in the area. The masala dosa, renowned for its crispy texture and fulfilling potato stuffing, is often complemented by their unlimited supply of pudina chutney, a fan favorite for its refreshing flavor.

In addition to dosas, patrons can relish a selection of side dishes that include Paneer Butter Masala, Palak Paneer, Gobi Masala, and Malai Kofta. These options not only tantalize the taste buds but also showcase the restaurant's commitment to offering hearty vegetarian meals made with fresh ingredients. For those with a sweet tooth, the Payasam stands out as a delightful end to any meal, striking the perfect balance between sweet and creamy.

However, the experience is not without its quirks. While the quality of food remains a strong point—evidenced by customer favorites like Uzhunnuvada and coffee—some diners have noted lapses in service efficiency. With waitstaff handling multiple responsibilities, there may be moments where patrons feel a bit overlooked, but the restaurant's bustling atmosphere adds to a sense of communal dining, where the excitement of patrons enhances the overall experience.

Saravana Bhavan embraces the essence of vegetarian cuisine, making it a delightful choice for anyone exploring the culinary landscape of Kochi. With ample parking space and a warm ambiance, it’s an inviting spot for families and friends alike to gather over good food. For anyone seeking a satisfying vegetarian meal on the go or simply a nice outing with loved ones, Saravana Bhavan is undeniably worth a visit.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, treat yourself to the flavors of Saravana Bhavan—a true gem for vegetarian dining in Kerala.

Tried the Porotta and Chana Masala. Small layered tasty Porotta but Chana masala was like OK OK. Soda lime was really bad Good vegetarian option. Not a must try spot - There are other Veg only options nearby (not tried)

We visited this place on the way to Aluva. Since it was evening tea time, we had coffee and Uzhunnuvada. Both are super quality items. It's located at the left side when travelling from Ernakulam to Aluva, exactly at Compaypady, near Aluva. Ample car parking space available. After giving us the order , the waiter immediately gave us the bill, but we wanted to order more. And then he was sitting outside. So we waited for him and called him through another waiter. In fact, that is not a good way of doing a service.

Affordable Cost..Tasty Food While we were travelling we mostly have veg items as mostly prefer saravanabhavan and aryas but not prefer much But in this saravanabhavan was almost whole seat filled and ente entrance seating was blocked at first don't know why but when the hall area was crowded they opened entrance seating ...That's how hotels manage The crowds really great thinking as in of food We 5 of them had Masala Dosa and One Ghee roast as mostly i will check price and compare as it was worth or not as compared to other hotels like aryas and ananda bhavan it was really low price ... As it cost 75₹ for masala and 85₹ for ghee As we ordered extra payasam as which was not over sweety but minimal sweet and one papad which cost 5₹ As masala dosa was too good as only one negative was that main server was only 1 boy as other one also helps around but they man who takes the order and he will deliver the order is too complicated but they practice it around but we saw that he works as a one man army he just fulfills every customers need as he didn't even missed out any table as main quality is he just says how much time each food takes to prepare even told tea will be late I really loved their pudina chutney as it's unlimited even they give a big jar of chutneys even we asked ... Overall for a minimal price and tasty food you visits there aa most people were having meals at that time we goes around 1.30pm just to have much light .... Just Loved it much something is there to pleased your mind
